All of these tools are intended to be used again, and again, and again! I like to model the text structure using a picture book, then use the included text structure passages as a whole class, then allow students to work independently on the additional text structure passage included.

Teachers have suggested using these with Time for Kids or Scholastic News in reading centers or rotations. Others have left them as a meaningful and effective activity to be completed with a substitute or in their emergency substitute plans.
