This Design and Sell a Haunted House is perfect for October creative writing, filled with SPOOKY figurative language, descriptive words, and Halloween adjectives. This October PBL project is a great option for a Haunted House Writing Project.

This Halloween Writing activity turned out so cool! This Design & Sell a Haunted House Project is ready to go and can be implemented as a digital or printable activity in a snap! Use one page or them all. This product is extremely adaptable. Students will love this Halloween PBL project for ELA!

Essentially, students work for a real estate company, (they get to name it,) that specializes in selling Haunted Houses. Students will create an infographic using the EASY to use templates

​

• Activity works in BOTH Google Slides and Powerpoint, and can be edited in either!

​

Along the way, students will dive deep into:

• Figurative language: (Onotomopiea, Simile, Metaphor, Hyperbole, Personification, Alliteration, Idiom)
• Sensory writing
• Persuasive writing...etc
• They can even dip their toe in narrative writing as they attempt a spooky story to explain how the house became haunted!

My FAVORITE part about this product is that students can actually design and customize the digital illustration of the haunted house... Watch the sped-up sample video! Students do this by adding moveable clipart and details to the scene. As well as adding picture-place holder windows. the cool part about the windows is that students can add images from the web or their device to the windows...or even better... a picture of themselves...or a GIF (Gif is the moving picture) of them waving from the window of their haunted house.

This activity is FUN, and sure to be a hit in your classroom, all while reviewing and learning critical ELA concepts. You will be blown away by the creativity this type of project can foster!
