This Back to School About Your Teacher Test goes beyond the basic get-to-know-you questions like 'What's your favorite food? What's your favorite color?' to facilitate a connection between you and your upper-grade students while also introducing your test-taking procedures and classroom rules.
When introducing the activity to students, I like to call this the MOST IMPORTANT TEST OF THE YEAR. This creates a little buzz until they realize it is simply a way for them to get to know their teacher better.
This product was created in Google Slides and can easily be edited or assigned in Google Classroom or Canvas. A printable worksheet is also included so that this first-day activity can be easily customizable for any classroom situation.
There are many variations for how you can use this activity in your classroom.
You can add more slides, edit the text, change the font, swap out the color of the shape... the options really are endless for making this YOURS. Your students will love getting to know you in this way!
In-Person Classroom/Printable Version: Build a printable test and reveal the answers through Google Slides, or create digital questions and use the ready-to-print response sheet to record answers. This About The Teacher Quiz can be seamlessly customizable to fit any classroom situation.
Zoom/Digital Version: My digital templates are EASY to use and allow you to add your own pictures, GIFS, or pictures from a quick google search directly into the picture placeholders, creating beautiful slides to reveal fun things all about you! You can share your screen via Zoom or Google Meet to show the students the questions and later reveal the answers. Students can write down their answers on a spare sheet of paper or on the digital response sheet.
