I am shocked at how well this product spans across all grade levels. The classic (printable) Paper Bag Biography is typically reserved for primary grades; however, putting a digital spin on this classic opened the doors to upper grades!
This is a low-stress activity to make meaningful connections with your students through cool pictures and interactive elements (sliders, customizable bag shapes, guessing game, videos, and more).
When teaching this lesson, you can show off your own Get to Know You Brown Bag allowing your students to get to know you and learn how to quickly complete this first-day biography. Students can simply use this no-prep beginning of the year activity because the templates have placeholders for the images to be easily inserted without any cropping or confusion. Your students will love this!
This product was created in Google Slides and can easily be edited or assigned in Google Classroom or Canvas. A printable worksheet is also included so that this first-day activity can be easily customizable for any classroom situation.
Students will share 3 objects representing them, and classmates will guess who the student is. Once the student is revealed, you can watch the video or read the explanations of why the 3 objects are meaningful.

This upper-grades first day of school activity is a wonderful tool that can be used as a digital and printable me in a bag activity in class rotations, digital ice breaker, bell ringer, distance learning introduction, hallway display, and more.
